Not-so-friendly skies leads to top 10 at Wild West Shootout

Not-so-friendly skies leads to top 10 at Wild West Shootout

What a long, strange trip it's been on the journey to the FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway for 'Big Daddy.'

First, his American Airlines flight from Tulsa to Dallas was cancelled after being moved twice due to weather yesterday so Joe bought a ticket on Southwest Airlines to Houston, connecting to Phoenix.

He landed in Houston late and his plane to Phoenix was sitting at gate but no seats available so he stayed overnight in Houston and then flew to Albuquerque the next day. He landed in Albuquerque and got bumped on his next flight to Phoenix.

Finally arriving at the racetrack Saturday afternoon, Duvall started sixth in the third heat race and worked his way into fourth to earn a spot in the main event. In the 25-lapper he charged from eleventh to finish seventh for the brightest spot of the last 48 hours.

Action in the Mesilla Valley Transportation/Border Tire Modifieds resumes at the 14th Annual Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts on Sunday.
