The final race of the year for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey’s took place Nov. 5-7 with the 3rd Annual Summit Southern Nationals at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas.
On Thursday, Joe started on the pole of his heat race and held on to finish 3rd. He started and finished 3rd to earn the 18th starting spot in the "A" Main but mechanical failure knocked him out after just 6 laps with a 25th place finish.
On Friday, "Big Daddy" started on the pole of his heat race gain, but this time he stayed there and picked up the win. He redrew the fourth starting spot for the "A" Main and then registered a 7th place finish in the 40-lapper.
Saturday wasn't as kind at the draw-in. The club 91 entry rolled off 7th in the heat race but clawed forward to finish 3rd and snag the 10th starting spot for the "A" Main. At the end of the competitive 50-lapper, the team put a 12th place paycheck in the bank to wrap up the three-day event.
